Public BBQ

A protected little beach at Burnett Heads with gentle waves that suit children, patrolled through the swimming season and kept genuinely clean by the council. There is wheelchair access onto the sand and an accessible toilet with a shower, along with cold water showers, free barbecues under shade cover, tables and seating beneath the trees, and easy free parking. A walking path follows the water. The volcanic rocks along the shore are unusual, some of them the size of a small car, and there are turtle encounters in season with knowledgeable volunteers on hand. A service station is about 500 metres away and the IGA and coffee shops are up the road. Accounts differ on dogs, with the council rules said to exclude them even on lead, so check before bringing one.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Bundaberg council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Bundaberg council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
